The team behind Blues to Bluegrass, an organization that fosters the arts in the community and tells stories of the working class through music, will bring a free album release concert to The Orion Amphitheater’s Apollo Park stage on Sunday, November 5 from 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM. This event is made possible by our partners at Yellowhammer Brewing.
The album, “Time of the Phoenix,” is a collection of songs and stories compiled by talented local musicians inspired by poetry from the original Rainbow Coalition. These songs capture the history and aspirations of poor southerners who came to Chicago and other northern cities to find work.
